Our approach
You are already watching. We just help you see.
Steady Dog is a small brand with one job: helping everyday dog owners notice health changes early, without turning them into anxious amateur vets.
Almost every serious problem a dog has starts as a small, ordinary-looking change. Slightly less interest in dinner. A slightly stiffer morning. A slightly different smell.
The trouble is that these changes arrive so gradually that they become the new normal before anyone thinks to mention them. By the time something feels obviously wrong, it has often been going on for months.
We started Steady Dog because the information available to owners tends to come in two flavours: alarming search results that convince you of the worst, or clinical material written for people with veterinary training. Neither one helps you at nine in the evening when you are wondering whether your dog is slowing down or just tired.
So we made the other thing. Short, warm, practical guides that teach one skill: paying attention properly, and knowing what to do with what you find.

Ten quiet minutes a week is genuinely enough.
What we hold to
Four rules we write by
Plain words, always
If a sentence needs a dictionary, it has failed. We write the way a calm friend would explain it across the kitchen table.
Observation before worry
We teach you to look, describe and record. Worry rarely helps a dog; noticing does.
No scare tactics
We will never list every terrible thing a symptom might be. That is not information, it is fear with footnotes.
Respect for your vet
Our job is to get you to the right conversation sooner, and better prepared. It is not to replace the person with the stethoscope.
Start with the once-over
Pick the guide that matches where your dog is right now. Read it this week, do the check on Sunday, and you will already know more about your dog than you did on Friday.
